When someone can't leave a hospital bed or care facility, we bring the notary to them. Common documents include powers of attorney, healthcare surrogate designations, living wills, HIPAA releases, vehicle titles and affidavits.
Every notarization still requires valid identification and a signer who can communicate their own decision. We'll ask a few questions before the visit so families aren't caught off guard.
We visit facilities in Tallahassee and in Quincy, Monticello, Crawfordville, Madison and surrounding towns, working within each facility's visitor rules.

How the appointment works
- Step 1
Call first
Tell us the facility, room, signer's condition and documents. Urgent same-day visits are often possible.
- Step 2
Pre-visit check
We confirm ID is available (or plan credible witnesses) and whether witnesses are needed.
- Step 3
Bedside signing
We speak with the signer directly, verify identity and awareness, and notarize — patiently and privately.
- Step 4
Documents stay with you
Originals go to the family or signer; we keep only our required journal entry.
What to bring
- The signer's ID — driver's license, state ID or passport (expired ID may not work)
- Completed documents, unsigned
- Witnesses if the document requires them (facility staff often can't serve)
- The name and number of the nurse or case manager, if helpful
We cannot notarize if the signer is unable to understand or communicate, or appears pressured. If a signer is heavily medicated, we may need to reschedule.
